Recycled rectangle ceramic pendant – Willow Temple and Dove
$64.00
This pendant has been handcrafted from broken/recycled china, and is formed into a rectangle shape, with rounded corners. It measures approximately 6cm high and 4.5 cm wide. The cord is plaited and is attached to the pendant using a unique binding method. The length of the cord is approximately 50 cm; it is designed to sit just below the collar bone. It fastens with a simple loop and toggle system; the toggle matching the china of the pendant.
The pendant features the classic Willow Pattern design in an early delicate version in pale blue and comes from a portion of a cake plate. The mystical temple is portrayed in this portion of the plate, with a dove flying freely above. Willow Pattern has been a popular design the world over for at least two centuries, and new versions of the classic design are still being produced today. The willow pattern design was first developed by English pottery manufacturers in the late 1700s and was an interpretation of Chinese motifs. This china was made by Copelands, England and could date back to the early 1900s.
This pendant is made with a black coloured cord; please choose black in the box below
