This pendant has been handcrafted from broken/recycled china, and is formed into a semi circle shape. It measures approximately 5.5 cm in height and 9 cm in length. The cord is plaited and is attached to the pendant using a unique binding method. The length of the cord is approximately 50 cm; it is designed to sit just below the collar bone. It fastens with a simple loop and toggle system; the toggle matching the china of the pendant.
The pendant is made from traditional historic English china and may date back to the 1900s or earlier. It is a mix of transfer printing and hand painting, in an intriguing melange of colours. This portion comes from the border of a small dinner plate, with a cobalt and gold hand brushed edge.
